Project Overview

Livelo, the loyalty program jointly operated by Banco do Brasil and Bradesco, offers users various avenues for accruing points: purchasing points, earning points through credit card usage, buying products from partner websites, joining subscription clubs, and redeeming these points for a diverse range of products and services.

Despite its functionality, the extract, in all its versions, had become outdated both in terms of aesthetics and usability. Users were expressing their dissatisfaction through numerous complaints and service requests, particularly regarding concerns about the source of their points, points deductions, and upcoming offerings.

Recognizing this opportunity for enhancement, we embarked on a journey to revamp the extract experience across all channels. This endeavor not only aimed to address user needs comprehensively but also presented an opportunity for potential monetization and increased engagement with the array of products and services at users' disposal.

Research

By prioritizing our clients and communication channels, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation of select competitors. Through this process, we analyzed both the strengths and weaknesses of these competitors, allowing us to pinpoint valuable insights and practices that could benefit our partners and customers.

Workshops and research

To address a range of critical business assumptions, our research had a multifaceted purpose:

  1. Opportunity Mapping: Identifying potential opportunities within the market landscape.

  2. Assumption Validation: Confirming and validating our internal assumptions to minimize bias in decision-making.

  3. Behavioral Analysis: Gaining insights into current user behaviors through the examination of data reports.

  4. Insight Discovery: Exploring novel insights that could potentially lead to innovation and growth.

  5. Pain Point Identification: Identifying and understanding pain points that users may be experiencing.

To achieve these objectives, we employed a variety of research methods and exercises, including internal interviews with the support team, collaborative workshops, and user interviews. This comprehensive approach ensured a well-rounded understanding of market dynamics, user behaviors, and potential avenues for improvement within our business strategy.

Proposed solution

Embracing the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) concept, we aimed to swiftly deliver the essential product components as quickly as possible, allowing us to acquire valuable insights and iterate based on user feedback.

This rapid delivery and learning approach proved invaluable, particularly in light of the numerous features that could potentially impact development. Implementing features incrementally helped minimize user friction, as users didn't have to continually adapt to major changes in the backlog. Furthermore, it enabled us to gain insights each week regarding which features were influencing and driving positive outcomes with our users.

Design Critique

A Design Critique is a collaborative session where designers come together to provide feedback and evaluate a project. Its primary goal is to refine the design developed for a product. Importantly, it's distinct from brainstorming, co-creation sessions, or approval meetings. In a Design Critique, an atmosphere of openness and safety is crucial, allowing participants to ask questions, offer criticism, and express disagreement when necessary.

Key benefits of Design Critiques for this project include:

  1. Strengthening the Design Process: By inviting multiple perspectives, it enhances the overall design process, leading to more robust and well-thought-out solutions.

  2. Reducing Development Iterations: Identifying issues early in the design phase can significantly reduce the need for later-stage development revisions, saving time and resources.

  3. Agility in Development: It fosters a more agile development process by addressing design concerns promptly, minimizing roadblocks.

  4. Skill Development: Design Critiques offer an opportunity for participants to hone their presentation, argumentation, criticism, and storytelling skills.

  5. Alignment and Consistency: They help ensure alignment across different design components and identify any inconsistencies in the product.

  6. Teamwide Knowledge: Design Critiques promote a shared understanding of all ongoing projects within the team, leveling up the collective knowledge.

In summary, Design Critiques play a crucial role in fostering collaboration, improving design quality, and facilitating a culture of open and constructive feedback within a design team.
